Christian Dior has just presented the men’s world with a new perfume. Following Dior Homme Cologne and Dior Homme Intense, it is now time for Dior Homme Sport to overwhelm all men who are young at heart. Representing this new fragrance for men is none other than British actor Jude Law.
Law, 35, received Oscar and Golden Globe nominations for Best Actor for his work in Cold Mountain. He was also nominated for both Academy and Golden Globe Awards in 2000 for his performance as Dickie Greenleaf in The Talented Mr Ripley.
Fresh and laid-back, Dior’s latest fragrance reprises the Dior Homme bottle, launched in 2005, with a touch of red added for a more "sporty" look. The design, of both the bottle and the packaging, was inspired by the Dior Chiffre Rouge Black Time Watch, worn on the wrists of both men in the advertising campaigns.
Totally unrelated to Dior Homme, Dior Homme Sport is a fresh, citrussy eau composed around citron and ginger.
Representing a perfume for the first time, Law is the spokesperson for the fragrance around the world, except in the USA and the UK. Doing something new for the first time, Law shares his thoughts about being the face of Dior Homme Sport.
How do you think you embody the fragrance?
I supposed you could describe me as sporty. I like to keep fit by working out and I love football and cricket.
What do you look for when choosing a scent?
I don’t like very heavy scents, but apart from that it’s just down to what appeals to me when I smell it.
What are your favourite smells and why?
The smell of my children’s hair, newly cut grass, fresh coffee and the smell of the sea.
Where was the campaign shot?
We (photographers, cameramen, directors and designers) went to Bahamas for the shoot. I had a very enjoyable few days on the beach.
What would you bottle as total happiness?
Peace of mind. - Soo Wern Jun
