AFTER years of fighting for gender equality, women nowadays have earned their liberation in education, arts and sports. From tennis to taekwando, women athletes today are seeking for a new liberation.
The "Me, Myself" campaign is an inspirational women’s marketing initiative introduced by adidas in 2009, celebrating individuality, confidence and motivation.
According to a statement by adidas, the campaign features real women adidas sports stars such as tennis player Ana Ivanovic, basketball star Candace Parker, taekwondo athlete Iridia Salazar and volleyball player Miwa Asao.
"The new adidas philosophy of ‘Me, Myself’ is inspiring to me because it shows women as individuals; that we are all athletes in our own right and that we all have things that we do differently whatever level of athlete we are," says Ivanovic.
The "Me, Myself" campaign shows a series of intimate portraits of women in their unguarded moment right before, during, or after performing sport, showcasing spring/summer 2009 adilibria, Clima 365, Yatra and TECHFITtm POWERWEB Yoga ranges in action.
The new adidas women’s website is also launched alongside the campaign.
The "Me, Myself" spring/summer 2009 campaign will launch in January at adidas Sport Performance stores, the adidas online store and selected sports retailers around the world. - Chin Lee Kam
