Great Eastern’s 26 teams raring to go

STAFF of Great Eastern Life Assurance (M) Bhd are looking forward to a fun expedition around the Klang Valley when theSun
Motor Hunt 2009 kicks off on Sunday.

The company is entering 26 teams of four in the event in the hope of winning some of the RM200,000 worth of prizes up for grabs.

The staff see the hunt as the perfect avenue to promote a healthy lifestyle and foster stronger relationships with their colleagues, in line with Great Eastern’s philosophy – Life is Great.

"At Great Eastern, we strongly emphasise the "Life is Great" philosophy. We believe that everyone should live life to the fullest and build meaningful relationships in the process," corporate communication executive Wong Fong Yee said.

"We hope the hunt will enhance the relationships we have built with our colleagues and friends," she said.

Among staff participating for the first time is business development executive Julian Quah of team "We ’r Kings".

He said the idea for the name came from his car registration number – WRK 383.

"After much thought, we realised that WRK could translate to ‘We ’r Kings’. Since all of us are guys, we thought the name would be fitting. We also pride ourselves in being the best and so want the best – name or otherwise," said Quah, the team driver.

Although inexperienced in motor hunts, he isn’t too worried as he will have teammate Dennis Lee as guide.

Lee, who will navigate, said his team was taking to a higher level Great Eastern’s recently launched "Go4More" campaign for agents.

"Our team will give it everything we have come Nov 8. Although we may not win the top prize, we are vying to beat two teams in particular. That would be achievement enough," he quipped.

Team LiChLeOn, made up of actuarial officers, say they will enjoy the hunt as they like the problem-solving process.

"Just as at work, we will analyse the questions and try our best to solve the riddles," said Krystle Lim, the designated driver for her team.

A team of first-time hunters in "Sunflowers and the Leaf" feel the event will be a good eye-opener for them.

"The hunt will allow us to explore new places in the Klang Valley. Being new, we have also equipped ourselves with maps to prevent getting lost should our car GPS fail," product marketing executive Azriza Azman said.

Great Eastern is the main sponsor of theSun Motor Hunt 2009, with Samsung as the prize sponsor.

The major sponsors are HSBC Bank, McDonald’s, Sports Toto, Kao Biore and Northport. Petronas Primax 95 is the fuel sponsor.
