OutRageously PINK tomorrow

THE OutRageously PINK Nite was conceived by the Malaysian Breast Cancer Council in 2004 to create breast cancer awareness among the public and also to tip their hats at those who managed to survive it.

This year’s OutRageously PINK Nite will take place tomorrow at Bangsar Village II main concourse area from 5pm to 9pm. It is the culmination of a month-long Stand Up for Pink celebration which included an exhibition by Gin & Jacqie, treasure hunt, health talks and sales of pink souvenirs at the Bangsar Village bazaar.

Part or all the proceeds from the sale of items at the bazaar would be channelled to the Universiti Malaya Medical Centre Breast Cancer Fund.

As the name suggests, pink is the theme colour for tomorrow’s function and anyone who shows up sporting pink outfits can vie for the best-dressed prize.

The event will include performances by singer-songwriters Juwita Suwito and Elvira Arul; fashion show by breast cancer survivors with their clothes sponsored by tenants of Bangsar Village II; jazzercise and bangra jam by Celebrity Fitness; laughter yoga by Nomad Adventures; and swing dancing by KL Swing! KL Drumline Corps will kick off the event at 5.15pm, followed by an abseiling demonstration by Rene’e Aziz Ahmad who will be guided by Malaysian Eco Challenge’s Chan Yuen Li.

There is also lots of fun for children with face painting and balloon sculpting at booths supported by Laura Mercier and Lariche Community.
