Besides a shopping complex, the gallery will also feature a 210-unit small home office block called The Empire SoHo, a 12-storey Empire Office Tower with a built-up area of 185,000 sq ft and the boutique Empire Hotel with 299 rooms.
The Empire Shopping Gallery is owned by Couture Homes Sdn Bhd, a member of Mammoth Empire Group of Companies. Mammoth Empire Holding Sdn Bhd was responsible for developing the site, which is a mixed-development project part of the free-hold Empire Subang commercial development.
With 70% of its leasable 350,000 sq ft reserved, the gallery is set to host a comprehensive range of fine F&B outlets, gourmet supermarkets, electronics, international and domestic brands.
"We are passionate and committed to turn this place beyond just being commercial to community based, friendly for everyone who has a different lifestyle and need," said Couture Homes Sdn Bhd managing director Datuk Sean Ng.
The gallery which has a gross built-up area of 600,000 sq ft, will feature about 180 stores targeted to attract an audience of 2.6 million people from Subang Jaya and its surrounding neighbourhoods.
And for the first time here, children will have an entire floor in a shopping complex dedicated to them.
The Empire Junior Floor will feature toy stores and a learning arts centre for educational activities including ballet, drama, information technology and linguistics.
On the gallery’s interior design, Mommoth Empire Group of Companies group executive director Danny Cheah said: "We have selected many fine pieces from various parts of the world to give the centre an international feel, but the ambience will be comfortable and welcoming."
Couture Homes celebrated the gallery’s topping-off ceremony with a party at the site for leased tenants and stakeholders recently.
"A topping-off ceremony, a tradition within the industry, is a symbol of completing a development project successfully," said Ng.
"The Empire Shopping Gallery is designed to be a lifestyle and contemporary centre that Subang Jaya would be proud to call its own," he added.
