AMBANK
is set to grant the wishes of its customers for more convenient service with the recent launch of its latest mobile banking solution aptly named AmGenie.

AmGenie is a unique multi-channel solution that allows customers to access their bank accounts through four different platforms – AmGenie web (
www.amgenie.com), AmGenie WAP, AmGenie PRO application, and AmGenie SMS application.

The platforms have been designed to cater up to 90% of mobile phones available in the market and is not dependent on any telecommunication service providers, ensuring that more customers will be able to utilise the solution.

It provides a menu-driven list for all the four platforms, eliminating the need for complicated steps or extra codes.

“From the ordinary man on the street to working professionals, AmGenie is developed in such a way that everyone can easily understand and use it,” AmBank managing director (retail banking) Datuk Mohamad Azmi Mahmood said  at the official launch held at Menara AmBank recently.

“The low cost of usage is also expected to attract device savvy customers in the 25-40 age bracket who are avid users of mobile services.”

He said the service has a high level of security which includes the use of phone verifications together with password and ID access with 256-bit SSL encryption.

“This new channel touch-point becomes more important and useful when customers are faced with mitigating circumstances that might require them to do their banking from home,” said Azmi, adding that AmGenie promises a convenient, efficient and cost-effective way to do mobile banking.

The range of services offered in AmGenie includes balance inquiry, transaction history, funds transfer, InterBank Giro, bill and loan payment, cheque order, stop cheque request, rates inquiry, as well as branch and ATM locator.

It also has value added services such as summons checking, stock exchange monitoring, prayer time enquiries, and many more.

“AmBank currently rank in the top 10 in terms of access to branch networks and ATM services and the launch of AmGenie is the last piece of the puzzle in our efforts to provide customers with the best and most convenient service,” said AmBank head of retail distribution Brad Gravell.

“To promote this new solution, AmBank will be launching several campaigns and marketing activities in the upcoming months starting with the ‘Sign-up and Usage contest’,” said Gravell.

“By signing up for the service, customers are automatically eligible to get a free gift and be in the running to win attractive prizes which includes the new PS3 Slim, mobile phones, iPod, and a laptop.”

The service is currently available to all AmBank customers who have registered for AmBank’s internet banking service.
