Education UK goes on the road
Alyaa Alhadjri

EDUCATION UK is bringing a multitude of representatives from its boarding schools, colleges and universities to Malaysia for a one-week exhibition and road tour from March 20 to March 27, giving parents and school leavers a chance to learn more about higher education institutions in UK.

In Peninsular Malaysia, the Education UK team will be at Hall 1 Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre on March 20 and March 21, and Grand Ballroom G Hotel Penang on March 23.

In East Malaysia, the exhibition will be held at Petra Room Pullman Hotel Kuching on March 25 and Ballroom Le Meridien Kota Kinabalu on March 27.

Visitors who pre-register on the Education UK website
www.educationuk.org.my before March 19 will stand a chance to win prizes such as a 32gb iPod Touch, Nokia e72 mobile phone and much more.

Besides getting on-the-spot advice, visitors to the exhibition can also attend free seminars on topics such as among others actuarial science, “how to choose a law school”, “how to prepare an art portfolio and how to apply for a PhD course”.

“In the light of the world’s current financial situation, I urge Malaysians to take advantage of these changes and how it translates into more affordable UK higher education,” said British Council director (education and programmes) Peter Clack.

“UK courses are shorter compared to other countries, making it a more affordable investment for a brilliant future,” said Clack.

“A postgraduate degree in UK is achievable within 12 months while an undergraduate degree is achievable within three years,” he said.

Transnational Education is also an increasingly popular choice and Malaysians now have the opportunity to do a full UK accredited degree course at a wide range of reputable local institutions that have been developing these programmes over the last two decades.
