ATC has been at the forefront of pre-tertiary education since 1987. In the last decade, it has expanded regionally with branches in Singapore and Hongkong.
Among the programmes offered to post-SPM students is the University of Cambridge A-Level programme. This qualification is a benchmark for entry into university level education in all fields.
ATC students can pursue Law, Business or Humanities. With a variety of subject combinations done on a modular basis, students successfully completing the programme at ATC can choose almost any programme at the degree level.
“The A-Level programme we offer is an open-ended, well-recognised and an affordable option, to give you maximum leverage internationally,” ATC principal and deputy chief executive officer Dr Danny Choong said.
ATC offers the option of doing the ASA2 version for A-Level which allows students to split the assessments into two parts. Choong said more students were able to obtain distinctions as a result of adopting this assessment style.
All ATC students have regular extended personal contact with lecturers as the college has a large faculty of full-time lecturers.
“At ATC, the student can complete the A Level programme for less than RM15,000, which makes this one of the most affordable programmes,” Choong said.
“In addition, students who excelled at SPM and students who face financial constraints can apply for scholarship. We give out about RM1 million in scholarships annually.”
A-Level examinations are held twice a year, allowing students the flexibility to pace themselves for examinations. A student who has problems understanding or coping with a particular topic can request for personalised tutorial support on a one-to-one basis.
A pre-emptive approach is used in assessing and monitoring the performance of students, with attendance records, assignments, time-test marks filed promptly into a database file for the purpose of regular and critical analysis, evaluation and remedial efforts.
The A-Level is recognised in more than 54 countries. ATC also assists its students to enter top notch British and Australian universities through its extended network.
