Parents must keep children away from fireworks

CHILDREN losing their fingers and eyesight and even their lives while playing with fire-crackers and fireworks seems like part of the annual routine leading up to Hari Raya Aidilfitri. The gruesome stories begin to make their appearance in the media after the first day of Ramadan but by the middle of the month they become more frequent and more chilling and tragic. Cases of a three-year-old losing an eye or two or three fingers have unfortunately become commonplace during Ramadan.
